The 35th Motor Expo has begun, exhibiting Concept Cars and unveiling so many new models, in parallel with super promotions throughout the 12 days, expected to generate 55,000 million Baht worth of transactions.
Kwanchai Paphatphong, Organizing Chairman of “The 35th Thailand International Motor Expo 2018” reveals that the Motor Expo this year, held under the concept of “Enjoy Driving! Before Driverless Era”, has been honored by Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports,in presiding over the Opening Ceremony. Participants include 36 car makers from 9 countries and 23 motorcycle makers from 7 countries.
The Expo exhibits 5Concept Cars and unveils more than 20 new cars along with plenty of special promotions. Car bookings at the Expo are expected to reach 45,000 units plus another 8,000 units of motorcycles, and the predicted 1.5 million visitors are expected to spend over 55,000 million Baht.
The Concept Cars that will be exhibited at the Motor Expo are the MERCEDES-BENZ CONCEPT EQA, MAZDA VISION COUPE, MG E-MOTION CONCEPT, MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS GP CONCEPT And PORSCHE MISSION E.
The Expo will feature ASEAN LAUNCHES of the ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE, BMW 8-SERIES and PORSCHE MACAN; THAILAND LAUNCHES of HONDA ACCORD, HYUNDAI KONA ELECTRIC, NISSAN TEANA, SUBARU FORESTER, TOYOTA CAMRY, etc.
For motorcycles, there will be ASIA LAUNCHES of ROYAL ENFIELD TWINS – INTERCEPTOR 650 & CONTINENTAL GT 650; ASIA PACIFIC LAUNCHES of TRIUMPH SCRAMBLER 1200 XC and 1200 XE; and ASEAN LAUNCH of HARLEY-DAVIDSON FXDR™ 114.
Interesting indoor activities include: IMC-MOTORING LIFESTYLE SOCIETY where IMC’s creation of the automotive media is given a cutting-edge presentation; MOTOR SPORT ZONE showcases several types of racing cars including cars modified in various styles for close viewing by speed fans; VINTAGE CAR EXHIBITION displays LANCIA APRILLIA – a Pre-World War II car made during 1937-1939 and was the last design of Vincenzo LANCIA the founder of the brand – probably the only one in Thailand; MOTOR EXPO STUDIO presents a live car talk radio show by a famous radio host, broadcasting live every day at the studio in the Lobby of IMPACT Challenger 2; SKILL DRIVING EXPERIENCE JUNIOR provides safe driving training for children aged 4-8 years to instill awareness of Traffic Rules.
Outdoor activities include: SPIRIT OF THE 4X4 DRIVING SCHOOL provides an obstacle course for visitors to experience 4×4 vehicles as passengers driven by experts; at TEST DRIVE GROUND car companies provide cars for visitors to test drive cars of their choice behind IMPACT Challenger; AUTONOMOUS TEST DRIVE AREA enables customers to try out cars equipped with Assist Systems such as automatic parking, autonomous braking, etc. under the guidance and supervision of the dealers’ experts and from SKILL DRIVING EXPERIENCE project; MOTOR EXPO MOTORING CLUB displays favorite cars and big bikes of their members for car lovers to see throughout the Expo, etc.
IMPACT Lakeside activities include: SKILL DRIVING EXPERIENCE provides a special training course “Driving Well…Driving Safely with IMC” in how to think on your feet and properly manage unexpected problems, limiting the number of trainees to 18 persons each day on December 1-2, 2018 from 08:30–16:00 hr; ROAD TO IAM BANGKOK 2019 will select beautiful cars in 4 categories, viz. 2-door, 3-door, 4-door and 5-door cars to be displayed at IAM BANGKOK 2019, the selection to be made on December 2, 2018 from 10:00-20:00 hr; BOAT FEST 2018 will display over 10 river watercraft (speedboats and scooters) on IMPACT Lake for enthusiasts to view, and there will also be an EXCLUSIVE PARTY BOAT FEST 2018 (for invited Guests) on December 7, 2018 at 17:00 hr; NAKED RIDING SKILL is a “Safe Riding” activity in accordance with the motorcycle riding safety training program on December 8-9, 2018.
